Geotraumatics

Geotraumatics (Geotraumatika) is a group exhibition at Atletika Gallery, created by Linas Gabrielaitis, Adomas Žudys, Rūta Spelskytė, Jurijus Dobriakovas and Simonas Saarmann. Starting from an attempt to draw a diagram of the Vilnius glacier, the exhibition turns the gallery into a geological map and a playground. Using digital and augmented reality technologies, it recreates the retreat of the glaciers in Vilnius, a city built on a former glacier shore that is still rising by a fraction of a millimetre each year. In doing so, it reveals the shared layers of trauma in nature, people and the city.

The visual identity starts from geotraumatic graphs. It combines the precision of a blueprint with ASCII art, referencing both the slow natural processes of moving ice and the digital VR artwork and computer game presented in the exhibition space.
