Ringailė Demšytė

Ringailė Demšytė is a designer, interdisciplinary artist, researcher and educator based in Vilnius, Lithuania, working across design, ecology and (sub)culture.

She holds a BA in Illustration (Honours) from Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and an MA in ArtScience from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. Her research asks how working with slime mould could reshape graphic design, moving it away from control and predetermined outcomes towards a relational practice. Over two years of cultivating the organism, this question grew into hands-on workshops she now leads internationally. She has presented her work at places including Poster House (New York, US), Dutch Design Week (Eindhoven, NL), Mediamatic (Amsterdam, NL), Universidade Lusófona (Lisbon, PT) and ŠMC/CAC (Vilnius, LT).

Ringailė was a finalist in the Design Research category of the Young Designer Prize 2026 (Vilnius, LT), and her project Invisible Fungi received Best Immersive Application and Most Impactful Project at the Student XR Awards 2023 (Rotterdam, NL).

She is the author of Vilnius Nightlife Graphics 1992–2024, distributed by Antenne Books (London, UK), and runs FLAIKES, an archive of Lithuanian nightlife flyers. She has designed for cultural clients and events in Lithuania and abroad, including Tresor (Berlin, DE), Herrensauna (Berlin, DE), MO Museum (Vilnius, LT) and V2_ Lab for the Unstable Media (Rotterdam, NL), with commissions reaching as far as Melbourne, Australia.

Ringailė remains open to collaborations that cross into unfamiliar ground.
